“Let’s Go Fly A Kite” at RHS Tatton 2019
The Burton & Rossett Horticultural Society is pleased to have supported the “Let’s Go Fly A Kite” garden at RHS Tatton 2019, in support of Children Today; a Chester-based charity that helps to change the lives of children and young people with disabilities across the UK every day.
The Society has been growing steadily over the last few years, in no small part thanks to the success of our “An Evening with…”, celebrity speaker events held every year since 2015.
In early 2019, we announced that we would be using the surplus funds raised from these events to support other local charities, and we could think of no better way to start than in donating money towards the “Let’s Go Fly A Kite” garden, designed by two people who have themselves given an evening talk to the Society: Penny Hearn, from ‘Planting With Penny’, and Jane Bingham from ‘The Cheshire Garden’.
The money donated by the Society was used to buy plants for the garden, which—as you can see from the photographs below—were vibrant and full of energy. From the RHS website:
Our General Secretary, Fiona Morris, took these lovely photographs on visiting the garden at Tatton.
You can watch highlights from the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park below, and see Jane and Penny receiving their Silver Medal towards the end of the video.
From the Committee and Members of the Society, congratulations to Jane and Penny on their Silver Medal success!
